The April 2016 issue of "More" magazine will be the magazine's last issue, reports the Wall Street Journal. "More" is no more. Meredith Corp. said it is shutting down the lifestyle magazine for affluent women because of unrecoverable advertising declines. The magazine had monthly circulation of more than 673,000, about half of its circulation of 1.3 million from December 2012. During a keynote discussion during Social Media Week in New York last week, New York Times CEO Mark Thompson spoke against the use of ad blockers, said Ad Week, likening their use to stealing a print issue of a newspaper. He wants readers to pay for the Times' quality journalism...The CEO further pointed out that, as with many similar publications, the subscription model does not cover all of the newspaper's costs, reported Ad Week. Those other costs are covered by advertising and sponsorship dollars, and those may be in danger as the usage of ad blockers grows.
