Tidal and HBO Score with Beyoncé Exclusive While Spotify Pouts

This weekend Tidal and HBO scored big with exclusive access to Beyoncé’s new album Lemonade which debuted on HBO Saturday night. The visual album, which Slate describes as “stunning” and “phenomenal,” is available for purchase on iTunes, but fans can only stream Lemonade from Tidal, the premium subscription music service partially owned by Jay Z, Beyoncé’s husband.

BOXO Spills the Beans with New Coffee Subscription Service

Last week BOXO joined a growing list of subscription box services that deliver coffee beans right to your door, giving subscribers the opportunity to explore coffee from different U.S. roasters. There are currently two plans to choose from, a monthly plan starting at $28.99 and an annual plan starting at $299.99, including shipping. Both plans offer the option to choose two eight-ounce bags or two one-pound bags of coffee beans, and the price increases with the quantity selected. Gift subscriptions are also available.

Sling TV Puts OTT TV on a Diet with Skinny Bundle

DISH Network’s Sling TV is putting over-the-top (OTT) TV on a diet with its “skinny bundle.” Launched last week in beta, this new Sling TV package will cost subscribers $20 a month and allow for three simultaneous streams on different devices rather than just one. It can be purchased as a stand-alone streaming service or in conjunction with Sling TV’s single-stream service.The skinny bundle will consist primarily of Fox programming, including content from FOX Broadcasting, FOX Sports, FX, National Geographic, AMC, A&E, Turner, Scripps, EPIX and Univision.

Netflix Posts Strong Q1 2016 Results Despite Shareholder Doubts

Wyoming Tribune Eagle Erects Paywall 6 Months After Sale

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle, the state’s second largest daily newspaper, is the latest newspaper to put up a metered paywall. Readers can access 10 free digital articles per month on WyomingNews.com, but must register after the fifth to get the remaining five articles. Prior to the change, online content was free, but in a condensed format. Now everything available in the print edition is also available online.
