Earlier this month Electronic Arts Inc., or EA, announced the launch of Origin Access, a subscription service for PC gamers. Netflix Grows to 75 Million Members, Sets Ambitious Goals for 2016

Can Apple Music’s Subscriber Growth Last?

Spotify Hit with Two Class-Action Lawsuits Totaling $350 Million

Sometimes more is better. In this case, two lawsuits are not better than one. In late December, Mashable reported that Spotify has been sued in a civil suit for $150 million over alleged copyright infringements. Recurly Reports Holiday Season Was Exponentially Successful for Subscription Companies

This morning subscription management platform Recurly announced results of the 2015 holiday season, which was exponentially successful for subscription merchants. The results were drawn from a sample of 450 business-to-consumer subscription-based merchants who are clients of Recurly. The study period was two weeks long from Sunday, November 22 through Saturday, December 5, 2015, which included Black Friday and Cyber Monday. WhatsApp Makes App Free, Discontinues Annual Subscription Fees

Yesterday WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum announced that the company is discontinuing its annual subscription fee, reports the Wall Street Journal.
