For those who want to avoid the Black Friday and Small Business Saturday crowds, Fosina Marketing Group is launching Subscription Box Sunday on November 26, a dedicated day for shopping the best subscription box deals at PollyDrop.com. Developed by Fosina Marketing, PollyDrop is a new website that aggregates subscription box offerings, sorted by interest and category, where consumers can choose the subscription boxes they want to try or give as holiday gifts.

‘The current generation of shoppers, particularly millennials, has adopted the subscription shopping trend in an explosive way. This has caused the market to become flooded with subscription boxes and services for every type of product imaginable,’ said Jim Fosina, founder and CEO of Fosina Marketing Group.

‘We decided to take it upon ourselves to become the subscription authority. Our goal is to ultimately review and curate all the best subscription boxes available on the web and bring it into one easy to shop site – PollyDrop.com,’ added Fosina.

To kick off PollyDrop, Fosina has asked subscription box companies for their very best deals. The best deals will get premium placement on the site when it launches on Subscription Box Sunday. To date, Fosina has received an overwhelming response from subscription box merchants, including Martha Stewart Wine Club, Gentleman’s Box, Bark Box, Ancestry.com and Women’s Health magazine.

‘The reaction we are getting from both the merchant market and the traffic sources has been extremely positive and considered quite innovative. The market need and desire are anticipated to be strong,’ said Fosina. ‘We have merchants competing for featured placements and even asking for exclusivity.’

Do we really need a Subscription Box Sunday? Fosina thinks so, especially since the Sunday after Thanksgiving often gets lost among the hype from Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday.

‘Subscription Box Sunday is a very relaxing day, feet up at home, not fighting the lines in the stores on Black Friday, no distractions from work on Cyber Monday – just a simple place to go for all of your gifts-that-keep-giving ideas for your holiday shopping,’ Fosina said. ‘Move over gift cards – subscriptions are in!’

What exactly does PollyDrop mean? Fosina said ‘Polly’ comes from parrot, and parrots repeat themselves like subscription boxes which are delivered monthly or quarterly to subscribers. ‘Drop’ relates to the convenience of subscriptions and, in the case of subscription boxes, a supply drop.

Though Subscription Box Sunday and PollyDrop.com are brand new, curated subscription box marketplaces with reviews are not. My Subscription Addiction, for example, has been offering information and reviews about subscription boxes since 2012. Founded by Liz Cadman, My Subscription Addiction has grown to meet the demand of subscription box consumers. This year, My Subscription Addiction is offering Black Friday 2017 with deals, coupons and exclusives, as well as Better Than Black Friday, exclusive deals from subscription boxes like FabFitFun, POPSUGARand Allure available for a limited time. They’re also offering Dollar Deals and Mystery Boxes. Cratejoy is another aggregator of subscription boxes, reviews and special deals, but so far, we haven’t seen their Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals.

Insider Take:

You know how we feel about subscriptions, so it shouldn’t be surprising that we love the Subscription Box Sunday concept! Like you, we don’t want to get up early Friday morning to hopefully buy something for our loved ones that they may or may not like. With a subscription box, however, you can give a gift that changes every month and that gives the recipient the opportunity to try products or services they might not otherwise. And what fun it is to give (and receive) a monthly surprise – instead of just once a year! We will be shopping online this Sunday. Will you?
