The Subscription Marketing Director will join a team of 100+ purpose-driven staff members in a friendly, focused, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.  The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) is the largest leadership honor society in the United States, with over 700 chapters and more than 1.5 million members.

This role will bring a deep and diverse understanding of product commercialization and GTM best practices for content and how to drive business results. Your efforts will be centered around strategic initiatives across NSLS’s new subscription product offering. This is a pivotal organizational role for a driven GTM leader to serve as a key member of the marketing management team leading and directing marketing strategy and tactics including:

  • Product Commercialization activities for new Subscription offerings
  • Subscription eCommerce model to maximize customer experience and NSLS growth goals
  • GTM Marketing Strategy from Pilot to Launch and leading ongoing marketing activities

Who are you? You love to collaborate with the cross-functional product and marketing teams as well as agency partners to ideate, strategize, plan and launch new products with a focus on executing GTM strategies in support of strategic business goals and objectives. We welcome a leader who has product commercialization experience, ideally from the learning & development industry, who can effectively apply their knowledge and experience of adult professional education content to upcoming product launches and ongoing GTM strategy and tactics to help our team achieve overall company objectives.


  • Key role: Lead the go-to-market team for Subscription Offerings. Works collaboratively with Sales, Product Management, Marketing Communications, Demand Generation, and other teams to drive growth and customer success.
  • Product launch: Develop and document the project plan from pilot (POC/POB) to launch. Plan the launch of new Subscription-related products and releases managing the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
  • Subscription Revenue Model: Provide recommendations and help execute subscription revenue model for eCommerce transactions. Experience with testing is preferred.
  • Customer Intelligence: Be the expert on buyers of the product, how they buy and their buying criteria. Effectively segment customer needs (i.e., both for the Higher Education buyer segments  and B2B Professional) in order to inform future market and product positioning.
  • Market/Competitor Intelligence: Be the expert on competition.  Follow and analyze market trends to position the product and identify new required capabilities.
  • Customer Experience: Develop roadmap, monitor and manage end2end customer satisfaction. Engage focus groups, where and when required, to maximize customer experience.
  • Messaging: Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates the product in the market based on POC (Proof of Concept) and POB (Proof of Benefits).
  • Content: Owns and works with Marketing team to create content (e.g., marketing campaigns, thought leadership, white papers, website content, presentations, documentation, product videos, blog posts, release announcements) to articulate the benefits of the Subscription offerings to the world.
  • Sales enablement: Partner with Product Management and Marketing team to communicate the value proposition of the product to the sales team. Develop the sales tools and training that support the selling process of the product.  Assist sales on calls when appropriate to provide deeper dives into the product.   
  • Provide ROI analysis of all campaigns highlighting areas of opportunity and optimization based on data, including Lifecycle Marketing (national demand gen prospect and customer), Regional Marketing, and Strategic Communications (website, social, etc.) monthly.
  • Drive the pricing analysis, product costing process with the product and marketing teams .
  • Ensure that intellectual property rights are established and protected prior to commercialization of innovations.
  • Ensure future subscription innovation projects are developed in accordance with the concepts, designs and specifications detailed by the requesters while maintaining an emphasis on feasibility, integrity  and timelines.
  • Manage Subscription offerings overall performance. This includes developing KPIs (e.g., number of enrollments) and performance metrics, data analytics, goal setting, forecasting, etc. 
  • Lead evaluation and implementation of new subscription products and packages working with the Product and Marketing teams.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of current and emerging technologies in an area of expertise of subscription offerings. Provide SME support for Thought Leadership activities related to Subscription offerings.
  • Review and make recommendations on innovative new business opportunities.

  • 7-10 years in product commercialization and GTM roles, preferably in the Learning & Development, Higher Education, Training, EdTech SaaS, or Instructional Design industries.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Experience with marketing to both B2C and B2B audiences.
  • Experience in project planning, product launches and marketing strategies (i.e., market research, competitive analysis, market analysis and segmentation, a wide variety of inbound/outbound marketing disciplines, including social media, paid and organic search, advertising, retargeting, email, direct and event marketing channels)
  • Previous experience with membership organizations or content subscription companies is a plus.
  • Strong analytical thinker with proven experience leveraging data and analytics
  • Superior leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with close attention to detail
  • 2-5 years CRM experience. HubSpot experience is a plus
