REVRY is the latest entry into the streaming video market. What sets this 24/7, on-demand video subscription service apart from other SVOD services is that REVRY, pronounced rev-ree, is solely focused on the LGBTQ market, offering ‘QUEERATEDTM‘ movies, digital series, original programming, music videos, podcasts and music. Though only recently known on a global scale, REVRY premiered on March 7 of this year, and is the first streaming content platform dedicated to the LGBTQ audience. The service is available on Apple TV, Roku, Google Chromecast, on iOS and Android devices and on the web.

Following a 30-day trial, REVRY is $4.99 a month, or $54.99 a year, a slight savings. As an alternative, individual videos are available for purchase. Among the offerings are digital series including Paragon School for Girls, Capitol Hill and HUG-O-GRAM; movies like Life Event, Boy in a Dress, When the Party Ends and Poster Boy; music videos; teasers; trailers and promos.

REVY describes its subscription service on its About Us page:

“REVRY is a groundbreaking streaming service which brings together specially curated content from across the digital universe. Created by and for the LGBTQ and allied communities, REVRY provides a subscription service to a library of carefully short (i.e., ‘snackable’), medium, and long-form LGBTQ content for easy consumption at home or on-the-go.

With a focus on diversity and inclusivity, REVRY believes in storytelling that extends beyond just the queer experience. This is why we support all our content partners, creating opportunities to bring more of their visions to life, and connecting them with the community through authentic storytelling.”

While REVRY is the first streaming service dedicated to the LGBTQ community, other services including Netflix provide some limited content to that audience as well. What really differentiates REVRY is that it is curated by and for the LGBTQ and allied communities, and it offers both exclusive and original programming including two documentaries, House of Trans and After Orange, which will debut on REVRY this fall, according to Tubefilter.

In the last two years, many streaming services have flooded the over-the-top (OTT) TV market, some with broad appeal like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, CBS All Access and Sling TV, but others are niche-based like REVRY, WWE Network, SeeSo, Comic-Con HQ and TuYo. To be successful in this over-saturated but still-growing market, a platform needs to offer something unique, and it appears that REVRY has achieved that with a wealth of content curated and developed for its well-defined audience.

While we only recently heard about REVRY, its soft launch was almost six months ago, and it is slowly growing a following. With a PR blitz in progress, we expect to hear more about this new digital streaming platform, and we anticipate great success from a global audience.
