The Independent Launches Paywall for North American Readers

The Independent (U.K.) has launched a new metered website aimed at getting several hundred thousands North American readers who take in more than 20 articles per month to pay for access. The site will charge $6.99 per month which it hopes will turn into a total of about $1.4 million per month in revenues, according to PaidContent.The site has also launched an iPad edition which after a free trial period will cost $32.19 per month for all readers, in the U.K. and abroad making it one of the highe...
