Move over, private aviation subscription services. Travel subscriptions are the hot new thing this holiday season! That’s what Trveler is hoping anyway. Trveler is a newly-launched, subscription-based travel service for individuals and couples, says TravelPulse.

Subscribers pay a monthly fee starting at $139.99 a month for the ability to travel every 90 to 120 days, says Travel Pulse. Trveler offers two packages, the Nomad and the Trekker, for individuals and couples to choose from. Each package requires a four-month commitment, and includes travel every 90 to 120 days and access to club discounts. The Nomad is suggested for spontaneous travelers, while Trekker is better for travelers who need or want more control and options.

Now in beta testing, new subscribers can save $100 off their first month with the coupon code “Beta.”Founders Pablo Chavez and George Haskell explained the concept in a recent interview on TravelPulse. The subscription service is based on technology and the company’s ability to generate hotel and airfare packages based on system parameters and a subscriber’s preferences.”The gist of it is (giving subscribers) the ability to travel multiple times a year without breaking the bank, not having to dump a tremendous amount of money all at once and do it to a new destination each time – all without having to worry about planning and have to find the best deals possible,” said Haskell.Trveler chooses the airline and hotel, but subscribers get to choose their travel dates up to three months in advance. Travel details, including destination and hotel, arrive two weeks prior to departure. With the Nomad package, Trveler chooses from one of 40 locations, including San Francisco, Las Vegas, New York City, New Orleans, Chicago and Austin. With the Trekker, subscribers can choose from 10 locations.Subscribers can sign up for one of the packages, making four required payments per trip. They can renew after four months, or put their account on hold, if needed. For those who auto-renew, they’ll get a new trip every 90 to 120 days.At the outset, Trveler launched with four airline partners – American, United, Alaska and JetBlue – and six hotel partners – Four Points by Sheraton, Caesars Palace, Holiday Inn, Courtyard Marriott, Hilton and Doubletree. Eventually, the founders hope to add group travel to their offerings, but for now the subscription is open to individuals and a companion traveler.Insider Take:We love to travel, so we think this is a fun, new idea, but since the subscription service is just now in beta testing, we anticipate adjustments in everything from pricing to partnerships. Ideally, the company will use analytics and customer feedback to make incremental changes as they tweak their business model. We think Trveler will attract spontaneous, adventurous and budget-conscious travelers who yearn for affordable weekend getaways. However, it may not suit travelers who want more control over their vacations or who want lengthier or luxurious vacations. If Trveler needs someone to help test the program, we’ll pack our bags!~ Dana E.
