Salesforce Includes AI Credits in New $195 and $395 Editions
Sep 04, 2026Salesforce is putting a defined amount of AI usage inside its new per-user subscription packages, an approach we’re seeing from other software companies.
Salesforce is changing what comes inside its new Core, Advanced and Max subscription packages. The company introduced the editions on September 3, combining Salesforce software with AI capabilities and products including Slack, analytics, security and support.
For Sales Cloud, Core costs $195 per user per month and Advanced costs $395, both billed annually. Max costs $550 per user per month. Existing customers on Salesforce’s legacy editions will keep their current pricing, the company said.
The new packages also come with included AI usage through Salesforce Flex Credits.
AI Usage Comes With the Subscription
Core includes 500,000 Flex Credits per organization per year. Advanced includes 1 million. The credits are used for certain Salesforce AI features and Agentforce actions.
Customers still pay a recurring subscription price based on the number of users, but that subscription now comes with a pool of AI usage for the organization. The credits do not increase with every individual seat. They are allocated to the organization for the year.
If customers use more than the credits included in their plan, additional usage is billed at their contracted rate.
Salesforce is also putting more products into the new editions. Core includes Slack Business+ and Tableau Next. Advanced includes more AI capacity along with additional data and security features.
Core and Advanced Get New Prices
Salesforce says the Core and Advanced prices reflect what is included in the new editions. Core is priced at $195 per user per month and Advanced at $395. Max remains at $550, the same price as Salesforce’s previous Agentforce 1 Edition.
Existing Agentforce 1 customers can move to Max at no additional charge, according to Salesforce. Customers that stay on legacy editions will keep their current pricing.
The new pricing applies to Core and Advanced, while Salesforce is also changing what comes inside those packages, including the amount of AI usage customers receive.
Insider Take
We’re starting to see a pattern in how software companies are packaging AI.
Salesforce is keeping its familiar per-user subscription while including a pool of AI usage. Customers can use the credits included in the plan and pay more if they go beyond them.
We’ve seen similar approaches recently. Meta’s Muse Code offers fixed monthly plans with usage limits. Asana includes AI Studio credits in paid subscriptions and sells additional capacity when customers need more.
The common pricing question is: How much AI usage should come with the subscription?
Including some usage gives customers room to start using AI without making another purchase first. If usage grows, the provider has a way to charge for more. If the allowance is too low, customers may hit another charge quickly. A larger allowance gives them more room to use the product, but the provider carries more of the cost before that usage brings in additional revenue.
Salesforce is another example of software companies keeping the recurring subscription at the center while adding a usage-based layer around AI.
