X Bundles Grok, Cursor and X Premium Into One Subscription
Oct 13, 2026SpaceXAI is combining three AI products with X's paid social media features, creating opportunities to grow subscriptions across its businesses while raising questions about the revenue trade-offs.
SpaceXAI, operating under the SpaceXSI name, introduced The X Subscription on October 12, bringing Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium into one offering. The new plans range from $8 to $200 per month, giving customers access to products that previously required separate subscriptions.
Three of those products focus on artificial intelligence. Grok helps people research, write and create content. Grok Bot carries out tasks on a user's behalf, while Cursor helps developers build software. X Premium provides paid social media features, including verification, creator tools and fewer advertisements.
So why include X Premium in an otherwise AI-focused subscription?
Part of the answer may lie in the customers X already has.
X Brings Millions of Paying Subscribers
According to SpaceX's securities disclosures, the company had approximately 4.4 million paid subscriptions across X's Premium tiers as of March 31, 2026, compared with approximately 1.9 million across its SuperGrok tiers.
Those figures predate the new bundle and don't represent verified counts of unique subscribers. They also don't include a comparable figure for Cursor. Still, they show that X brings a substantial existing paid customer base to the offering.
That creates an opportunity to introduce those subscribers to additional products. Someone already paying for X Premium may be willing to upgrade for access to Grok or Cursor, particularly if the combined subscription costs less than buying the services separately.
The opportunity also works in the other direction. Customers subscribing primarily for AI tools may receive X Premium benefits they wouldn't otherwise purchase, potentially giving them more reasons to use the social platform.
SpaceX has previously identified converting more users into paid X and Grok subscribers as a growth objective. The company hasn't said whether increasing X subscriptions or engagement is a specific goal of this new bundle, or how bundled users will be counted in future subscriber reports.
How the New Subscription Works
The X Subscription includes a free plan and four paid options:
| Plan | Monthly price | Included AI usage |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Limited |
| Plus | $8 | Base allowance |
| Premium | $30 | 4 times Plus |
| Super | $100 | 15 times Plus |
| Ultra | $200 | 50 times Plus |
Grok Bot is included beginning with the $30 Premium plan. That tier also brings together benefits previously available through SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+. SpaceXAI says purchasing those subscriptions separately previously cost approximately $90 per month.
For customers who already use several products, the new package could be less expensive. But the savings depend on which subscriptions they currently have and how they use them.
The plans also introduce a shared weekly AI allowance. Eligible Grok-model activity in Grok and Cursor draws from the same pool, allowing customers to use more of their allowance in whichever product they need. Usage in one product reduces what's available in the other.
Not everything is included. Customers on Premium and higher plans who use supported third-party AI models through Cursor pay separately for that usage. The company provides spending controls to help manage those additional charges.
What Happens to Existing Subscribers?
Existing Grok, Cursor and X Premium customers can keep their current plans and pricing for now. The previous standalone subscriptions are no longer available to new customers, and SpaceXAI says it eventually expects to move remaining subscribers to the combined offering. No timetable has been announced.
Customers who switch can consolidate eligible Grok and Cursor accounts into one subscription and billing arrangement, then link a personal X account to receive the included social media benefits. Eligible unused subscription periods are refunded on a prorated basis, although some app-store purchases require separate cancellation or refund steps.
The company also offers team subscriptions with centralized billing. However, the X Premium benefits included in the bundle can only be linked to personal X accounts, not organization-managed or affiliated accounts.
That means the company is combining products used for both personal and professional work while keeping the social media benefits tied to individual accounts.
Insider Take
Bundling gives SpaceXAI an opportunity to sell more services to customers it already has. X brings millions of paying subscribers who may be interested in AI features, while Grok and Cursor customers could find new reasons to use X.
The financial question is whether that additional activity turns into more revenue.
Customers who previously paid separately for several products may now spend less under one subscription. Others may upgrade or begin paying for services they previously used for free. SpaceXAI also has an opportunity to introduce subscribers to products they might never have tried on their own.
SpaceXAI hasn't released results showing how subscribers are responding to the new plans. We don't yet know whether the bundle will increase paid adoption, improve retention or raise revenue per customer.
For subscription operators, this is a useful example of the opportunities and trade-offs that come with combining products. X brings an established paying audience, while the AI tools give customers new reasons to subscribe or upgrade. The test will be whether growth across those products generates more revenue than the business gives up when customers combine their existing subscriptions.
X's new subscription raises two questions for operators considering their own bundles: How do you price several products together, and how do you know whether the combined offer is producing better growth? These Member Center resources help teams examine both decisions.
