Pandora Offers On-Demand Listening to Free Users Who Watch Video Ads

Expanding its offerings once again, Pandora (NYSE: P) now allows free users to access the company's on-demand streaming music library after watching 15-second video ads. On-demand listening to free users was previously unavailable. Now, when a free user searches for a song, album or playlist, or asks Pandora to recommend one, the user can opt to watch a video spot to unlock a premium listening session. Pandora is offering the feature to introduce users to Pandora Premium, one of Pandora's streaming music subscriptions. The new functionality is also available to Pandora Plus subscribers.

Shopify Merchants Made Over $1.5 Billion in Sales Thanksgiving Weekend

Shopify merchants had an incredible Black Friday Cyber Monday (BCFM) shopping weekend, with more than 600,000 sellers from 175 countries generating more than $1.5 billion in sales. Among the highlights was the move to mobile shopping. Sixty-six percent of Shopify sales during BCFM occurred on mobile devices, compared to 34 percent shopping on desktops. New WhatsApp Scam Tries to Trick Users into Paying a Subscription Fee

In January 2016, the WhatsApp instant message app discontinued its annual fee of $1, but a new scam tries to trick users into paying a subscription fee, reports The Independent. Some WhatsApp users have received a message advising their subscription has expired, and they need to verify their account and purchase a lifetime subscription for 0.99 GBP by clicking on a link and providing their payment information. However, WhatsApp, now owned by Facebook, has been free to download and use for the last 17 months.
