A new app that’s hit the iOS app market aims to make sense of the many subscriptions consumers often sign up for and then promptly forget about.

Two Boston-based entrepreneurs, Ben Rothman and Scott Judson, have created Subscriptme, an app that allows users to manage their digital subscriptions.

The app has a simple interface that tracks subscriptions, manages bills, offers ratings and reviews of other subscription services, and provides recommendations for other subscriptions that the user may enjoy.

“We found ourselves running into the same problems with our subscription services, and we learned that this was a common problem with so many subscriptions on the market,” Judson told BostonInno. “It seemed that there was a gap in the tools available in the marketplace that solely focused on subscription tracking and discovery, which is why we decided to tackle this problem.”

The app also has features that allow users to customize billing cycles and set reminders. Insights provide detailed reports that break down how much money is spent on apps both monthly and annually.

Insider Take:

We at Subscription Insider hope that all subscription agreements entered into are of value to the consumer – but with thousands out there, we know that’s not always true. There are many occurrences where consumers sign up for – and then promptly forget about – their subscription obligations. Technology that allows consumers to get the most out of their subscriptions through organization and analytics can only be a good thing and we look forward to watching what Subscriptme does as it continues to grow.
